We offer a variety of after school clubs, such as Soccer Club, Harmony Club, and Greek Immersion Lego Club, to name a few. There are three sessions throughout the year, and selections change from session to session.
After school care is provided for an additional fee from 3:00-4:00 by request. Additionally, after school is offered every Friday between the end of the school day and the start of the St. Nektarios Afternoon Greek Language School.
An estimated 150,000 words - that's up to 30% of the English language - have roots in Greek! By learning Greek, students will have an advantage in any further education they choose to pursue (think SAT's, medical terms, science terms). Furthermore, we have designed our Greek language program to not only teach Greek, but more importantly to give students a framework for how different languages work. They will be more equipped to learn any future language because of the experience they gain at The St. Sophia School.
Yes! We welcome people from all backgrounds and faiths to our school. Our tiny community is a beautiful mix of students and faculty from all over the world. Students will attend liturgy and receive religious education once a week from our parish priests. The religious curriculum has an emphasis on habits and practices. While we love and value our Orthodox Christian faith, we believe these habits and practices will be a benefit to the spiritual development of anyone who wishes to develop as a spiritual person, Orthodox or not.
